Faux-Professional Pictures, Homemade Lightbox???

Such a huge difference! Great job and thanks for sharing.
I also take pictures outside with natural lighting, which I think makes a huge difference when taking pictures of larger cakes--sometimes I just couldn't get the lighting right.
Taria, thanks for the tips. Also see page 75 in 1 st issue of "Cake Central" magizine for other pointers for taking great photos.
We got our weekly shipment at work so I grabbed one of the boxes. I got tissue paper at dollar store and just need a sheet of bristol board. I'm at $2 . I just need to get some desk lamps. I'm thinking Walmart is my best bet for a cheap pair???. I can't wait to use it!
Thanks for the post!
Wow! Thanks for the visual of the light box. I have a ton of boxes in my house because my oldest son's diapers are delivered in huge 2ft square boxes from medical supply. Those would be perfect for a light box. I need one for my cakes and for my crochet items I sell on Etsy.
Can't wait to try it. I thought my camera sucked too... or maybe it was just me not knowing how to actually take a decent picture.
Here's a post I made on this same subject.

Hi,
I just made myself a light box using the instructions posted on this thread.
BUT.....I need some help. All my pictures have a very distinct shadow behind them. Could someone guide me to preventing this problem. I moved my lamps closer, further back, positioned the light upward, downward and towards the back but all the photos have the shadow.
I did use two sheets of tissue paper over each "window" so perhaps just one would be better? My camera is a Kodak Easy Share 1253.
Any guidence would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

AH-HA! I figured out my problem. I forgot to turn OFF the flash on my camera, hence the shadows! Duh!
Once I turned it off, the pictures come out great!

Old thread, I know...but I'm about to make the light box and am wondering if it's worth it to buy two $30 sunlight lamps or two cheap-o halogen desk lamps.
Please advise! :) Thank you!
