I would like to make a rum cake. I've only ever seen them done in a bundt cake pan. My question is, is there anyway to do a rum cake as a layer cake, or will be final result be too wet? I would like to cover it in buttercream if possible.

Thanks!

I would use my regular cake and sub some of the liquid for rum or use a rum flavoring. Then as my soaking syrup use a rum simple syrup. I've done this Amaretto and have had wonderful results.
