Someone has asked me to make her wedding cake, but she will be traveling down to Florida for the wedding. She asked how long after I make it, will it still be fresh. I'm pretty sure it will be fine for at least a few days, and probably longer if it's fondant. How would you all respond?

For me, it depends on what kind of cake. My white/vanilla cakes don't stay as soft and fresh-tasting as long as other flavors like chocolate, banana, spice, etc.

Good luck!

I have to agree with really depends on the recipe and baking methods used.

I'd say 3 days tops for it to be "fresh" tasting.....anything over that for me starts to's still edible after a week but definitely not as fresh.

Thanks guys! I just told her a few days, but it would depend on the type of cake, and that denser cakes would last a little longer than other cakes.
