I've been reading a few threads lately, and the topic of cake minimums have come up. It's interesting to hear what your cakes start at and what can you get for that price? I was initially thinking to make it 100.00,but recently thought 150.00 would be more worth my time.
So what is your cake minimum? AND..what size cake does that get you?

Just curious

Tiered cakes start at $250 for a 10 inch and 6 inch with gum paste flowers [one or two large and a few fillers].

Right now my minimum is $150, and I don't have that tied to a size, because it depends on what you want, design-wise. Once I have a shop up-and-running, my custom order minimum is going to be upped to either $200 or $250.

My minimum is $50, and I don't do 6" cakes unless they're part of a larger order. I think some of the difference in minimums relates to the price per serving, too. My BC minimum price per serving is $3.25. I wonder if the price per serving is higher for those who have $100 minimums.

Ditto. I know that I tend to underprice for most of the orders that I do get. I figure that I am still pretty much a novice to intermediate decorator and I don't want to overprice. I am still learning so much about decorating and the business part of it. I did just buy CakeBoss so that should help with future pricing.
