Two words. Duncan Hines.

I found none of the other brands are consistent.

My nickname in college was Betty Crocker! But truly, I am a Pillsbury girl when I do use mixes!

Duncan Hines for me. I will occasionally use the others if I absolutely have to, but I'm never happy with them.

I've always used Betty Crocker until recently. I've been using smart and final brand they sell, I think its 1st street or chefs review, big bags of mix I measure out how much I need. Batter is a little thin when mixed but it bakes up so nice and it tastes good too. The Chocolate is much sturdier and less crumbs than any box mix I've used. It's worked good with extender too

I wonder which one works the best for WASC? I'd love to find one that doesn't make the top all mushy.

I've never had a mushy top with either mix using WASC extenders

I see that I am a definite minority here, but I hate all the "big 3" mixes. I use the cheapest most generic store brand EVER, & I LOVE it. lol (I do WASC). I have never had good luck with DH, Betty or Pillsbury. Maybe it's just me.

Believe it or not I have found that the cake mix from Save A Lot or any generic are great. They are inexpensive & moist.

It used to be Pillsbury only (years ago) and then they changed their formula so I switched to DH. In the past 2 years or so, I basically used whatever was on sale, usually DH or BC.

In the past two months, I have found Pillsbury again (big sales in my area) and it seems better than before. So I am using it. Duncan Hines is my second choice.
