We recently picked up a 3 piece set of Wilton heart pans at a yard sale. The Wilton number is 502-3053, they are also dated 1971. Each pan is only about 1 inch deep. They measure approx. 3in, 5in, and8in. Does anyone know anything about this set, for example, was it a three piece or a four piece set,was it for a tiered wedding or or bridal shower cake? Any info would be appreciated, as there is no mention of this set on the Wilton website.

I looked in some old Wilton books from the 70's that I inherited from my Grandmother and it looks like it was a 3 piece set (5", 7" & 9" x 1 1/2") that could be used (and I quote) to make a lovely 3 layer cake or use for individual cakes or foods. By the way, the cost for the set was $2.25.

Yes that was a tiered cake set put out by Wilton. One cake mix is used for all 3 layers/pans. They also made a mini plate & pillars set to use with them.

Thanks for the responses. That helps us decide what to do with them.
