I have a set of three graduated cake stands, 12", 10" and 8". I was wondering if anyone has used them between tiers as pillars? Would they be too heavy? I know you would have to dowel underneath, but would that be enough to hold it? Anyone tried this?

Thanks for any info,

Vicki

Hi there VS8894> I wouldn't recomend anything other than a sturdy support between cakes. Cake stands won't hold your cake up because of the narrow bottom. I say by yourself some columns and separator plates, or get creative, but don't use the "cake stands" to separate your cakes.

Thanks for the replies. I do have plates and columns, but I have seen vases, wine glasses ,glass cubes, candleholders etc., between layers, so I was wondering if this was a possibility. Just a thought. Thanks again for the replies.
