I am making two graduation cakes for the same party. One will be luau themed and the other will be more "elegant" with white and orange flowers.
my question is for the cake with white and orange flowers. What color should I make the base of the cake? white? pale orange? just wish i could picture it in my head. White seems too plain but orange may be a bit much. The school colors are orange, white and black.
thanks

Honestly, it doesn't matter what the base it. It's a matter of how you make everything work together to give it an elegant finish.

I'd go with a really soft delicate orange, so both the white and orange flowers would stand out or a very pale yellow or green, could be really cute.
