I have an order for a cupcake cake for next weekend. Of course I have never done one before. I have no idea how it works? Is there a secret to getting the top to look so even? How do you frost them, do most people put a FBCT on top?
I seriously have no idea how to do this.. Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
thanks
Holly

I bake my cupcakes and then as soon as they come out of the oven I flatten them with a heavy cutting board.Once they cool arrange them on a cake board staggered so you cut down on the cracks.Once you are happy with the layout...go around the board and glue each cupcake down with a small dolop of icing under each cupcake and put back in place. Then take the wilton large icer tip and go in strips along the top and cover completely and smooth with a flat plastic spatula.I have a projecter so it is very easy to find a image and draw it on there like that but a FBCT can be made also.I do all the pictures in the middle and then do the border last.

It really is very easy!!
