I would love to particpate... I'm not great, but I'd love to keep learning... And of course as you said, in NC, there aren't many classes... Hope this happens soon icon_smile.gif Can't wait. Please keep me posted!

Bemshelt, where are you from? I am near Hickory.

Sharon: How many would we need to maybe do two classes? One in the Triangle area and one closer to the Charlotte/Asheville area?

There have been a good bit of responses and I am wondering if we could get enough to do it.

Hey I have seen your posts on Craigslist. You have some really nice cakes. I am not that advanced either....we should consider trying to start something locally and get locals together once a month to help one another.

Patti! I just sent you a PM, in response to the message you sent me like almost a month ago... And now I check the thread and you wrote me.. I guess our minds conected for a second there... icon_smile.gif We should definetly consider the class thing once a month.

I have a big enough kitchen to host in Chapel Hill and more equipment than you'd ever need.

Ok I have been calling around and got some really high quotes for venues, anyone have a space or know of a place we can hold this class in or near Raleigh. The cheaper the space the cheaper the class!

I think we will need Sharon to come out here often, I'm getting a great response! Once I can find a decent place I will continue to work with Sharon to come out to our area. So if you miss her this time you can attend the next time around!

Maria did you contact snarkybaker? Chapel hill works for me...

And if I could put a vote in for a weekday class...weddings fill up weekends. Or at least far enough out to plan that weekend off.

Also, what kind of place/space do we need? I could brainstorm a bit....Julia

I am in High Point and would possibly be interested too. Are we talking multiple classes or like a day workshop? What kind of classes does she do?

I live way on the other side on the border of Johnston County thats why i would like to keep it kind of central in Raleigh also near the airport so Sharon does not have to Travel much.

We need a big enough room to fit 15 people and each person must have 4-5 feet of table space

Also a room that has a sink, microwave and refridgerator. I would like to keep it in the triangle area.

This will be a 2 day class. AS soon as I find a venue I will have the date and work on the curriculum with Sharon and will let you know. But I would like to cover stuff that is not on her DVDs

I am so excited to have her come out here! she is my cake idol!

I am typo queen today, doing my day job and at the same time making phone calls to find a good place! And all the while browsing through CC!

I would love to take a class with Sharon. I am 5 months pregnant, so it would depend on when the class is held as to whether I will be up for attending though.

Beginning 6/14 until mid August they have extremely limited availability due to summer camp programs. No money may be collected on site, but classes may be held there if all attendees have prepaid. Typically we are allowed to book up to 6 months ahead. I was told the website lists further info and availibility. http://www.townofcary.org/depts/prdept/facilities/bpcchome.htm

Thanks I did call them yesterday, I noticed that the parks are the more pricey. But I think I may have found the place I will check it out on Friday if Sharon thinks it's priced right, and they are willing to give us a discount for all future events! I will let you all know soon!!!

I thinking maybe in July or September, not August because I have another 2 day training I have to attend. What do you guys think. I want to give you folks enough time to save up for this class.
