I want to purchase airbrushing equipment and I have no idea where to start. My boyfriend thinks we can just buy any kind, and I really have no clue if he is right -- any suggestions???

I bought my kit from the E-Bay store: http://stores.ebay.com/TCPGlobal-AutoBodyDepot_Cake-Decorating-Bakery-Suppl_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ861461014QQftidZ2QQtZkm
His prices are great and they ship fast.

Good Luck!

I just bought the Aztec 4709 from here http://www.bearair.com/prodinfo.asp?number=100259, it's sooo nice, very ergonomic for the hand too, it came with 6 different tips, and 6 detachable cups so you can have different colors ready and switch em out on the fly, also comes with dvd's that teach you how to use it and what the diff tips do. I bought the compressor separately from http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93657 because it was MUCH cheaper buying these two separately than what some sites were offering for the set. I'm very happy with it. HTH icon_biggrin.gif

Aztek 4709 has my vote too! So easy to use, no needle to bend or replace, and easy to clean.

We were looking at the compressors on Harbor Freight, and I had no idea what all to consider. Thanks for the links from everyone, this is a good place to start!

I got mine as a gift from Air Brush City...they have deals on sets...I got the compressor, one of the better one's...the air brush pen that comes with it, black plastic, with a bottom jar that holds colors..and I also got to pick a cake decorating pen, all metal ...and I LOVE IT!!!!...Bunch of hoes come with it, and a little tool to adjust your compressor.

Ive never had lessons but as you can see from my pics, not too bad so far. This is what we got:
Airbrush City Kit # 144AC-2G Airbrushing Starter Kit
includes:
1- Airbrush City Model 144AC Airbrush Compressor
1- Airbrush City <5font>Model # 1404-BA PRO Single Action Airbrush Kit Includes Braided Airline
1- Airbrush City Choice of GD102 or GD100 Airbrush Kit with Braided Airline ( I DID RESEARCH AND PICKED THE GD100 PEN)...total cost 135.00
