Although I'm really new at all this, I've been experimenting (and getting tired of it) for the last month, which really turned into an experiment with humidity. Thanks to CC and several books, I've found that MFF, original recipe, with 6 oz of white chocolate added for stability in humid areas worked the best. I've gotten lots of advice from others in high humidy areas. I am currently using Serious Cakes' buttercream recipe, but only using 5Tbl cream and 2 TBl corn syrup. it's working well, but I'm waiting for a delivery of Sweetix so I can try Sugarshack recipe. Good luck!
