I have a question about dowel rods. I made a 2 layer 12 x 18 sheet cake. Would I need to use dowel rods??

Thanks
Rhonda

I doubt it..Anytime you are putting the same size layer ontop of one another you usually only have to worry about slipage.I don't dowel but if the cake is really huge and heavy then maybe you should!

Rule of thumb is you can go 4-5" high before needing to use support (dowels).

my baby bassinet cake is a sheet cake that is layered. I only doweled where the bassinet hood is. I have never doweled a layered sheet and never had any issues.
