I know that I can use styrofoam for a cake base/plate and decorate it. But is there anything else I can use to put the cake on, and make it look cute. Any help?

You can slightly elevate your cake drum and add dangling trims around the edge like on these cakes:

Just glue one or two pieces of 1/2-inch foamcore, depending on height needed, under the cake board. They only need to be an inch or two smaller in diameter. You can use cake drums too, but foamcore is cheaper.
