My 7th grader this spring won her school spelling bee, then the district bee, and today we took her to the regional bee for northern Idaho, and she WON! So she's getting an expense-paid trip for all of us for a week in Washington, DC in May, to compete in the National Spelling Bee. We're SO PROUD!

I adore DC. I was born there, and have been back there many times, so I can't wait to show my kids my favorite city! ! yippee!

We just watched Akeelah and the Bee the other week in Latin (which is the closest I've come to those upper-level spelling be words)... and woah, I applaud your DD for her spelling.
