How do you put the decorative scroll pattern on. Is this free hand or is there an embosser available for this.

I free hand my scrollwork, it seems to work better for me, because it can just be whatever it turns out to be instead of my trying to make it exactly like something else!

Either as has been said. It depends on the look you want. The Wilton embosser sets are good.
