I am going to try these tomorrow but I wondered what is the purpose of the 4 inch card? Is it stability? or will the dried circle of white fondant suffice?
I plan on wrapping each up in a plastic bag (don't know if that's relevant)
thanks for your help
Hi, I'd suggest you do need them on some kind of base unless you had days to let the fondant set really hard. You could completely cover a plain piece of card in fondant if you don't have anything special.
I have pulled my practice ones off the card before and they've stayed in one piece but that was weeks later.
Hope it works out, whatever you decide

I wish I'd come across this earlier!!!! I'll have to wait until next year to try it as everywhere I went yesterday was sold out of Creme Eggs! Who'd have thought?!
oh my gosh, did you make that up yourself????
They are absolutely darling, just too cute.
Really excellent work!

I did a beginners cake decorating course a while back and I got the idea of decorated eggs from my tutor. This year I made a bunny version which is in my photos and I have a little mouse cake topper that I adapted to have a chocolate egg inside too.
Once you experiment, you'll come up with all kinds.

In my opinion, the fondant circle is no enough. You have a fairly heavy chocolate egg to support.
I went and looked at the cadbury bunny... another inspired creation,
I may just have to try one of those.
Is it the sleepy door mouse that has candy in it. I just love that one.

Thankyou!!
That's right, the mouse in my photos is just a fondant cake topper but this week I've made 25 like that but with a Lindt Choc egg body (bit smaller than a creme egg)
I have little choir boys for Christmas made of a small Mars Bar in my photos too. I've just edited the decription, I forgot to say what was hidden underneath their clothes!!

Ohhhh noooo... I thought at first it was a joke... like someone smooshed a mouse and his insides came out LOL
Sorry for the disaster... but hes awfully cute!!
Oh nannie, they're lovely!! I bet everyone was impressed when they saw them as place settings.
