This is a cake from Collette Peters' website. I'm sure that some of you amazing decorators have done a similar cake. Can you give me some pan sizes? I have the Wilton petal pan set, but I think they only have five petals, so I might want to do the second tier with a round pan. I would like to do this for an April wedding.

Thanks for your help!

My best guess is the bottom is comprised of at least eight 8" rounds (plus something, styro??, in the center); the next one is probably carved from a 14 or16" round; then a 19 topped off w/a 6"er.

Thanks kakeladi,

That is more cake than I am going to need, so I'll try to trim it down a little bit. I appreciate the help.

I am curious how that is set up...is it sitting on pillars at the bottom and the cakes slid under?

I actually think that there is a piece of styrofoam cut the exact height of the cakes and sitting in the middle to support everything. I was hoping to do this for a wedding in November and found some information on it - just don't know where I put it when my plans changed.

Wow...that's pretty...I thought the bottom looked like it was made up of 6" rounds??

I thought the bottom looked like 6" rounds too, but that makes a huge cake. I got four 4" round pans to try, but never got back to it. I'll see what I can figure out and post again. icon_smile.gif

What if you did eight 4" pans with the styro center, 8" petal, 6" petal, and 4" round?

I think I need to go ahead and get four more 4" pans so that I can lay everything out and see what fits. I'm not visual enough to figure it out with just some of them there!! Thanks for your suggestions. If this works, I will be sure to post a picture.
