I am thinking of making fancy candy apples as gifts for my sisters. The kind that is covered in chocolate and rolled in goodies. Do I need to add anything to the melted chocolate, or just use straight chocolate? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!!!

Use candy melts that you can get at placeslike WalMart; Michale's or Hobby Lobby. You should not need anything else in it unless the candy gets thick. Usually that would happen if it gets too hot or it's old.
If it needs thinning just add some Crisco (best) or butter.

I like to use carmal and then chocolate, and then if i use white chocolate then i put crushed oreos on them. If i use white chocolate then i sprinkle brown sugar and cinnomon mixture. If i use milk chocolate then i put crushed walnuts and marshmellows and then drizzle more choc on top to make a rockroad carmal apple. So good. I like to buy the chocolate by merkens. I think it melts well and taste really tasty.
