I recently purchased the 1971 Wilton Large Egg Cake pans (to make the popular 3D Turkey Cake) on Ebay but did not think to ask ahead of time of the rings (that support each 1/2 during baking) would be coming too. I just found out that they are not. Arg! So...does anyone have any tips on how I cake make-shift some rings? I keep imagining them tipping over in the ovens and creating the "perfect" nightmare!

idea: Will aluminum foil wrapped tightly work (shaped into a ring)?

You could also cut the top and bottom off a small can, like a tuna can and use that as support.
