I am doing an anniversary cake this week and I want to use the color silver on it. How do I go about making the color silver?? Should I do the scroll work in white and paint it with my silver luster dust?? Should I do the scroll work in buttercream or royal? The cake is going to look like the invitation which is all done in white and silver.

There are many previous threads about painting in silver.

You will probably find royal works best, since it is easier to paint a firm surface.

The luster dust needs to be mixed with alcohol to be metallic, other wise it just looks grey.

Take a small amount of dust and add vodka, Evercleer, Clear vanilla, or lemon extract, one drop at a time until you have painting consistancy.
