i need some guidance...here is the problem. when i put the good coat on a cake with colored italian buttercream, stick in the fridge, pull it out, and fix parts of the cake, the areas that i fix are darker than the rest of the cake. why is that and/or is there anyway to prevent that?

That is common Have no idea how to prevent or fix.....
I noticed that on a cake on the new Wedding Cake Designers program on last night.
