this is my first 3 tier LARGE wedding cake, and i was just wondering when i stack the cakes do i need to cut the fondant out of the middle so that the cake board on the cake that would be above it fits down into the one below or do i just put my supports in and put the layer directly on top like normal? i didnt even think about that until now!

Definately do it as you would any other cake. Don't remove any of the icing (fondant or otherwise).
