Just wondering if anyone here took a 5-hour class with Elisa Strauss. She has them for $800. Looks like she is the closest cake designer to me that I like, that gives classes - maybe someday! icon_rolleyes.gificon_smile.gif

I haven't taken a class with her but I would love to! I think she does such beautiful work. I think her website says that the $800 class can be a group class...

Ohhh...I was thinking $800/person!

Hey I am in MA too! We should get a group together, split the cost, and go! icon_biggrin.gif

I interned for her and got to watch a couple of the 5 hour classes. She really packs a lot into the lesson! And you get to take your cake home too icon_smile.gif

I have to pay for Cake Camp before I can commit to another cake trip - but I really want to go so please keep me posted if you decide to pursue this class...

I looked on the website and I was wondering if you could clarify for me....Is it 800 per class and then 200 for each additional person? Or 800 per group up to a certain number? Not sure if you'd know but thought I'd give it a shot!! Thanks!!

It looks like its $800 for a private lesson for 1 person. Its $1000 for a private lesson for two.

You can do the 2-3 hour classes for $100 per person, and you need at least 8 people.

At least that's my understanding from what I read on the website.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what kind of fondant she uses? Does she make it herself or buy? Ive been watching her manipulate it and it looks to be really nice consistency!
