Okay i made some fondant last night. It wasn't MMF, all it was, was corn syrup, shortening, salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar. The texture of it turned out great, but its oily. I've cut out flowers with it, so my question is is it gonna dry out? Did i do something wrong or is this fondant oily??

It depends on how much shortening. It sounds more like rolled buttercream, which can be very greasy. I think it might dry out, given enough time.

It should dry out. It will just take a bit longer than MMF
