Finished my first baby shower cake this weekend and I got my first wedding cake order in return! Super excited about it.

The bride says she needs a cake that will serve aprox. 150-175 people.

I was thinking about doing a 6, 8, 10, 12 x2 cake but since its my first wedding cake I am not sure of what size layers I need in order to make a cake for that many servings.

Its going to be my first cake with over 2 layers.

Also another question is how would a 6, 8, 10, 12 layer cake look. I do not think I have seen one. Has anyone done one in those sizes?

Thanks!

Shantelle

My brother's wedding cake was a: 6", 8", 10", 12", 14". Maybe this photo would give you an idea of what it would look like, just omit the bottom layer.

Very pretty cake! Thanks for posting the picture.

can I ask without the 14 inch aprox how many servings did the 6,8,10 and 12 cakes serve?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

6,8,10,12 will serve 118 if they save the top tier and 130 if they eat it... that is according to Wilton, using 1x2x4 for slice size.
