The contestants were not named because I did not want them named. Too late now, huh?

I treated this contest like any other cake show - no names mentioned.

Any problems with my decision?

PM me instead.

All the contestants in the other throwdowns were mentioned by name. I thought perhaps it was an oversight, or I had somehow missed it.

Sorry.

All the names were listed in the throwdown thread.. so if anyone wanted to find out.. they could have. It's not anonymous at all. icon_smile.gif

Well I think it's a great issue to bring up, and maybe Teekakes (who is working on a new round of rules, I think??) might want to consider whether it would add another level of excitement to keep the names of the cakes' creators out of the voting threads. I agree, it would be impossible to keep them 100% anonymous since they are always announced in the initial planning phases (and subsequent smack talk LOL). But by the time there are 5-6 concurrent TD voting threads, there is no way I'd remember which duos were working on which themes, KWIM?! Not to mention all the people who only "tuned in" for the voting and didn't follow the initial planning/announcement threads anyway.

Regardless, I think it works just fine either way thumbs_up.gif Theresa I think it was a great idea to try it, but since the other 4 TD's mentioned names, it was inevitable that the question would come up in your thread, since we all just assumed we somehow missed the post. Haven't you had one of those moments..."I KNOW I saw that here somewhere...."?!! Whoops, this time our eyes weren't deceiving us. DOH!!

Anyway, I'm guessing this issue never came up before since there were only two contestants!

I'd rather all the contestants be anonymous until a total vote is tallied. Seems more in line with official contests. thumbs_up.gif

I kinda think it is fun to try and figure out who did each cake. And in Bobby Flay's TD you know who the contestant's are just not which they did right?

THis one is the hardest to vote on! Both cakes are designed beautifully, giving 2 aspects on the same theme.
I'm stumped.....
