You guys are great! I have been laughing while reading the post, and also giving a great amount of thought to the situation. 1. I'm making her a invoice and giving it to her when she returns from vacation. 2. I will not get rude as she knows what she has done and she is the one ruining a friendship and trust. 3.I don't make very many cakes to sell, just to family, and friends, but in the future if someone wants to buy a cake from me, I will tell them I have to have the money upfront, no if, ands or buts. 4. Good lesson learned, and not one to be repeated.

And I would also tell them WHY: "...since I got stiffed once on a cake, I have to ask for payment up front."
