I am doing a sponge bob cake based a beautiful cake done here on CC. It will be a sheet cake with big pineapple and sponge bob on it. It's too tall for a regular cake box.
How do ya'll box 3-d cakes. They're going to pick it up the night before the party. They have dogs etc and I think everyone would feel better if it was in a proper box.
Same question for tiered cakes, like and 8 inch and 6 inch stacked cake?

I'm really struggling with how to box things for people to pick them up.

I put mine in regular cake boxes, but I hook the lid flap into the sides of the box in such a way that the lid won't close all the way. If necessary, tape the lid flap in place so that it won't accidentally hit the top of the cake. Then I tape plastic wrap over the open side so that the cake can still be seen but will be kept clean and safe.

Some people use moving boxes that they've cut to open on the front, instead of on the top. Then they tape or velcro the front of the box closed after they slide the cake into the box.
