How do I avoid over spray around the bottom of my cake? It never wipes off cleanly. I am sure there is a "trick" for it but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

You have to mask it. I use plastic and 3M tape.

Cut short strips of wax paper; parchment; or even newspaper and tuck them around the cake so no board shows before you spray.
