If you don't want the lolly pop stick and just want to place roses on top of a cake...how do you do that w/out the stick? Could you use a piece of gum as your rose center??????

bellejoey, you could use a small ball of gum and form your petals around it.

Maybe just break the stick off? I don't know...just brainstorming! icon_wink.gif

It's easy, just roll a little ball of gum or tootsie roll for a center and make the rose from there. If you have Mich Turner's "Spectacular Cakes" book, that's how she does it. icon_biggrin.gif Another option is to use hershey kisses for centers, that works well too. icon_lol.gif

Here's a link to a thread that has other links on starburst/tootsie roll roses. http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-341813-chocolate.html+roses
In case the link doesn't work, the thread is called "How I make Chocolate Roses".

Here's another link to a thread entitled "roses". http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-65833-.html
