I just delivered my first wedding cake and I was so excited. I could not believe how smoothly everything went. The bride was very happy with the cake and I was pretty proud of it myself!!! The photographer even took my card and said he will email me a copy of the photo!!

I just uploaded it into my photos if you would like to take a look.

It's GORGEOUS!!!!!! I love it ... Have to attempt piping on the side of a cake yet .... looks a bit tricky to me! Your swirls are fab!

Thanks so much. I have been decorating cakes for over a year and that was the first one. It was really a fluke because I didn't meet the lady I made it for until today!!! She ate some carrot cake that I had made for a friend's birthday and called to ask if I would make her cake. I told her yes, but that she was going to be my first. She went for it and here we are!!! Hee hee...I am still vry tickled with how well it turned out....wasn't sure till I got it all put together and then I was beaming!!

That cake is really beautiful... very elegant! May I ask what size pans you used and how many this was to have fed? I am still trying to figure out the size difference and depth when planning a tiered cake and I really like the balance of yours! Great job icon_smile.gif

Cindy that is a really beautiful cake and kudos to you for being gutsy and taking the plunge! Now you can never say you haven't ever done a wedding cake. You should be very very proud of yourself!

Out of curiosity, did you freehand the scrolls or did you use a pattern?

Thanks again everyone for the wonderful compliments.

CakeDiva73---This was a cake to feed 100 people.
It is 14-10-6.....All of the cakes were torted and filled. I really like the way a torted cake looks when cut, plus I think it makes you feel like you are getting more than you really are. I made a separate 6 inch cake for the bride to have as an anniversary cake.

DelightsByE----They are freehand scrolls. I made some pin prick templates, but they were not cooperating, so I bit the bullet and did it without the templates.....Here is what I figured out---Start at the center of the curl and swirl out and down to the tail. This way you have more control.

Cindy
