I asked at the local grocery store, to see how much they'd charge for an edible image. It's $6 a sheet, and the lady said that they're very thin, and that they don't guarantee them once they leave the store. I understand that- I used to paint christmas ornaments, and I certainly didn't guarantee anything fragile once it left my care.

Is this reasonable? Is this cheap? Way too much? Help! icon_smile.gif

I've called around to different places.....anywhere from $8 to $12. My local cake supply shop does them for $6 and they are thick and beautiful!

So thick is better?

I've never used an edible image before, but I have a cake coming up that might need one, so I'm interested to practice first. Definitely want to know everything I can about 'em first! LOL

I paid $5.00 a sheet at WalMart, so I think $6.00 is reasonable.

I paid $7 last week at a local cake store. I didn't have time last week to run to my other local cake store, I think they charge $5.

I think the thickness depends on whether they are using frosting sheets or wafer paper. Not sure if one is necessarily better than the other though.

my friend is charging $15.00 to put them on cakes. Those inks are expensive!

If another decorator comes in she will let them go for $10.00 as a favor.

I charge $5.00 a sheet, I think I am under priced after reading this. $8.00 sounds good to me now.
