Hello - When using MMF to decorate a cake, how do you get the decorations to hold their shape? For example, I used a cookie cutter to cut a shape out of the MMF, but when I tried to move it to the cake, it lost it's shape. Do you normally cut out your decorations and then let them sit until they dry out? Is there something I should be adding to the MMF recipe that would help? Thanks!

You can also add some Tylose or Gumtex to the fondant. Another good strong mixture is 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. But, just airdrying the pieces should help.

Thanks for the tips! How much gumpaste would you add to a single batch of MMF?

I let mine dry out too. It works just fine that way.

If the piece is something that needs to stand up somewhat, I usually make them a few days ahead, at least. I made the cups on the bra cake in my pics 4 days ahead, and they held up just fine. I was worried because it was my first time trying it and i didn't have anything to add to the MMF.
