I have added a photo to the birthday gallery of the cake I made for my neice Megan to the birthday gallery. I am new to this board and have been lurking for about a month. I used Dawns buttercream recipe (yummy), French Vanilla cake mix with french vanillia creamer for the liquid. This was my first attempt at roses. I used Hersey kisses as the base. Be honest what do you think?

I have been learning from the internet and Wilton Yearbooks, no classes in my area. Your comments means so much. I just hope I can get to the level of you guys!

WOW- your roses look great. I've been decorating as a hobby for several years, and have not even attempted to make roses yet out of buttercream. Just too chicken, and don't have the time yet to just sit down and try.
Good job.

Roses came kinda easy for me but what has me stumped is apple blossoms and swirl drop flowers. They always break on me when I try to move them off of my waxed paper. How long should I let them dry out? I put them in the freezer and that sure didn't work icon_cry.gif

Thank you ladys you all have been a great help to me.

Depending on how humid it is, at least overnight.

flayvurdfun Posted 24 Apr 2005 , 8:41pm

humidity plays alot with cake decorating huh? I feel for you all who have alot of it.... I would go crazy if I had any more then I already do.
