Do you have some sort of problem with me? Are the designs on our web site not good enough for you?

I'll tell you this buddy, you could do a heck of a lot worse than stealing cake photos from Piece of Cake and I for one am insulted that every time I see a thread about someone stealing cake photos... I visit the offending website and what have you stolen from us? Nothing, nada, zippo, zilch.

You think you're better than me don't you?

Listen to me now and hear me later. One day, when you are sitting in your refrigerator box outside of CVS, eating deviled ham with a used popsicle stick... know that if you had taken the time and energy to steal a photo ot 2 from us, maybe... just maybe, you would be be eating that deviled ham with a shiny new plastic fork. Oh, you're still gonna to be homeless... let's face it... our designs aren't all that great, but at least with a little help from us you could have been "Upper Middle Hobo".

It should be noted that if you do steal my photos, the very least amount of legal action we will take would be a cease & desist order... but still, how about showing us a little something for the effort?

That is all.

Hi - I just wanted to say that I visited your website just now and I think your cakes looked very beautiful! You are talented. It's unfortunate to see how rude other people steal your pictures and not credited your work.

Do you ever considering about adding a "watermark" on your picture? Maybe it will help you.

I'd also like to give the 'what for' to those jerks who have never stolen one of my pics. Yah, I'm glad, but it's just a little disappointing to think I'm not good enough either. icon_rolleyes.gif

I say we kick his/her fanny!! You game?

If this disrespect keeps up, I say that you post some of our photos on your web site and I will reciprocate with your photos on ours. That way we're covered either way. icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif

You are too funny.

At first I thought, "What the heck? What kind of trouble is going to start now..."

Then, I read through the post, and I had to laugh. Thanks for making my day.

From one "uncopied" cake-decorator to another, I can only hope that someday your pictures are stolen, too! icon_lol.gif

Gina-

My mom always said I wasn't very funny. icon_wink.gif

I was more poking fun at the fact that nobody steals our work, I didn't mean to make anybody believe that it was an actual tirade. Sorry. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm on it!!! I hate to admit, when I see one of those threads I always click on the link to see who has been stolen from, and there is this morbid little touch of disappointment that I NEVER make the cut. Then the sanity kicks in and says, "Hello...? You WANNA be ripped off?" No... but it would be nice to at least be considered for it. icon_wink.gif

OK GUYS!! Not here to lessen anyone's grief over actually being stolen from! I know it's serious and it hurts!! We are just trying to lighten the mood! I feel terrible for those of you who have been through it, and I am IN YOUR CORNER if you need it!!

Sorry, you are going to have to tell at least one person that you decorated one of our cakes that you have saved for it to count. icon_wink.gif
Everyone uses other cakes for inspiration... I'm looking to be ripped off here. icon_biggrin.gif

Believe me, if I was half as good as you are, I'd steal the hell out of your photos!!! At this point, I'd be afraid somebody would actually think I could do that and I'd fail miserably by comparison!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_eek.giftapedshut.gificon_cry.gif

Too funny!! icon_lol.gif I was telling DH recently about some of the pic thieves...he actually asked if they had stole any of my pics! icon_confused.gif Poor guy, he's so deluded! Well, it's good to know that he thinks I'm good, he just has NO IDEA of the incredible talent out there.
At least that's one thing less thing I have to worry about! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Anyone stealing my photos will not have to worry about generating a lot of business! icon_redface.gif (I don't mean to denigrate myself, I just am a newbie and I know my limitations! Got A LONG WAY to go before I get good enough to steal!)

icon_mad.gif I was so angry,,,,but what happened to me was that "someone" took one of my cake design and then had the nerve to say, "they just invented this look"...

It does get the blood to boil over......WHAT NERVE!! What nerve....at least they could ask......like I have had some do but to either "say" or just steal pics and claim them to be their own is just out right rude.........

Wheww......glad to get that off the shoulder's......

Happy Baking and Frosting !!!!!!!!

I, too, am always so annoyed for the photo-theft victims. But...I also have to admit that a little part of me is disappointed not to see my photos among the stolen. icon_biggrin.gif

Of course if it actually happened, I'd be furious. icon_smile.gif

So I'm clear on this...
It is okay to replicate a design that I see on CC as long as I make a mention of the original decorator. You see, I have newly been upgraded to Junior Member (I'm so excited). I'm still very green, but I am learning!

one day...i will be good enough for ppl to steal my photos...thought about stealing some of ya'lls photos...but due to the fact that i do graphic art...as a hobby and had someone steal my background (for websites)...then claim it was thiers...i was pretty peeved...i did not want to disrespect any of you...

Melvira Posted 14 Mar 2007 , 3:26am

Oh absolutely!! You can recreate a design, but it's always nice to put "Thanks so-and-so for inspiring me" that sort of thing. Just credit where credit is due!!

Edited to add: if you don't remember where you saw the cake, you can always say, I got my inspiration from another CC member, or something like that.

icon_lol.gif You guys are losers. I wish there was a smiley with an "L" on his forhead- it'd be overused so much in reference to Melv. icon_twisted.gificon_lol.gificon_wink.gif

Sorry to go to a serious specific, but isn't there something that you can do so that the pictures can't be saved/copied/etc. I remember there was an html code that you could put . . .it copyrighted the picture or something. This way, your pictures don't have the dumb watermark or anything.

I just have to say. I work in Mesa, I looked at your website and I felt "honored" that someone so great was so close to me! Your cakes are AMAZING! I don't sell cakes, but if it would make you feel better I'll post one in my gallery icon_razz.gif

There are ways to code in HTML that prevents someone from "right clicking & saving" your photos, but there are a couple of easy ways around it.
