Slightly off topic I just thought about. We call carbonated beverages here in Michigan, "pop". thumbs_up.gif From what I'm told its a Michigan only thing. Most people I talk to call it, "soda" thumbsdown.gificon_biggrin.gif

..man, this one could go on and on....Where I was raised in Maryland we called it a "Cheesesteak Sub" but here in VA they call it a "Steak and Cheese Sub"...which makes no sense to me because in VA they call it a cheeseburger, not a burger and cheese! icon_rolleyes.gif

Everything here is a coke. My hubby is from NY so everything there is a soda or pop. Here we call a toilet commode, they call it toilet, LOL!! I call a stove oven & to everyone else it's stove. My mom gets frustrated at me because I call things the opposite of what they call them.. Like a refrigerator is a ice box... I blame my confusion on what to call things from being a AF brat. I have been around people from every part of the world!! I pick up thing from the people I'm around. I'm married to an AF man so I still pick up things from other people. This is a funny post!! I love hearing what other people call things. Good post Joe!

MrsMissey Posted 20 Mar 2005 , 8:21pm

flayvurdfun Posted 20 Mar 2005 , 8:34pm

a friend and her family call a soda soda water..... to me that means seltzer water but hey I'm from Delaware.....
my brother lives in Michigan and used to call soda a soda now its pop, he's an electrician in Traverse City, and my stepmother in law lives in Alger and calls soda a pop so hey I guess I can fit in anywhere! icon_razz.gif

Originally I'm from North Dakota and we had supper. Moving to Oregon, it was called dinner-culture shock for us!
