Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me with the top tier of this cake? My questions are:

- Do you think I should use brown sugar or crushed graham crackers?

- Best way to stick sugar or crackers to fondant?

-Also what is the best tool to indent the heart and the initials?

Thank you so much in advance!

AI would cover the cake first with brown fondant then either crushed graham or brown sugar, making sure the color of fondant and cg/bs is similar. I would use light corn syrup thinned out with water to make it stick. Or if you have airbrush, you can airbrush the brown color after. Any pointed tool or even toothpick can make that heart.

Thank you :) I hadn't thought of corn syrup! Okay so would you indent before applying the sugar or after?

Yes. Then clean it up again after.

I would probably use the graham crackers...that way you don't have to deal with humidity being an issue.  For this type application a 2:1 ratio of water to corn syrup works well......piping gel also works well as an adhesive....warm it a bit in the microwave to make it more fluid first.
