I have not used the program myself, but someone in my cake decorating class uses it and said it's amazing. She said she had a logo created for her business, and put it in the program to print on stuff.

It is amazing, if you are selling cakes you need this program. It is awesome!

I just got it this past month and I can't believe I've went this long without it! It has made my life much more organized and easier! I highly recommend it.

I ordered it and was really disappointed at how basic it is. WAY to basic for the price!! I got a refund. I now use a free version of quickbooks to track my customers and financials. I use it in combination with Living Cookbook, a much more complex software than CB that cost me $36 I think. It calculates recipe cost, scales recipes and inventory and does a bunch more stuff too! Cake Boss will hopefully become a better software, I get the impression they're working to improve it, but for now it's too expensive for what it is.

You must have had the old version then michgowell, the new 2010 version is amazing. I will never understand using two programs when one can do the trick. And debster...you are a forum addict and you have never heard of cake boss software? I saw the ad the first day I was a member here and checked it out. LOL! And the owner of the company KelleyM is a forum superstar. The thing about cake boss is the software is amazing, AND the customer service and speed of such can't be rivaled. I highly doubt you would be able to interact so quickly with Living Cookbook tech support, as you do with Cake Boss tech support. It is a family operation, created by a cake artist/baker for other cake artists/bakers.

Try it out, for 30 days, if you don't like it you will be issued a refund no questions asked. There isn't another software company in the world that will do that. Usually if you purchase a download then you are stuck with it. Not with CB!

love it and won't use anything else. It does everything and is easy to use. Did I mention that I love it, especially the custom invoices with my logo on it that I can print out for my customer

I am going to buy it this weekend sometime when I get a break from my insane schedule. I think it is going to be a wise investment. I looked at a demo on youtube, and for me seems like something that will work great for me! I will keep ya all posted..thanks for all the positive feedback!

It was about a month ago and it was the 2010 software. Just not for me... I find I have more control and customization options with the two programs I use.

For those of you who put your recipes into cake boss: I write my recipes in weights. There are some standard weights I don't agree with like I measure 1 cup of ap bleached flour as being 5 oz.. Most programs count 1 cup of ap flour as 4 oz. or 4.25. Can I adjust the weights in the program so I don't have to adjust my recipes?

No, the weight:volume conversions are internally loaded using commonly accepted ratios.

Wow! Thanks for the fast response! Can you tell me what weights you do have for the various flours (at 1 cup. measurements)?

icon_biggrin.gif I guess I am just a simple person because I really like this program because it's simple. I haven't officially started my business yet, but I wanted to make sure I was familiar with the program and had a lot of the information entered before I started. I thought the price was resonable because my husband and I have a program we use for our other business and it cost $3000.00 and I have to pay a yearly fee. The creators and owners of Cake Boss are very nice and back their product to your satisfaction so for those that it didn't meet their needs they refunded their money. I thought it was a win, win situation and a matter of personal preference.
