Peanut butter cake and peanut butter frosting, also good with Chocolate…PB cake with Grape jelly filling…or PB cake with Chocolate frosting or chocolate cake and PB icing..

Peanut Butter Cake from Mix

Ingredients

  • for cake:

  • 1 box yellow butter cake mix

  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter ( wonder what chunky would do)
  • 1 stick room temp butter
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 eggs

  • for icing:

  • 1 box 10x sugar

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup cream or milk

Instructions

  1. for cake:
  2. Mix as directed on cake mix box, adding peanut butter to wate, bake according to directions on package.
  3. when cool frost with peanut butter icing.
  4. for icing:
  5. Mix all ingredients untill smooth and fluffy. if icing is too thin add a little more powdered sugar until you get it the way you like it!

I love both of these recipes! The cake has a subtle peanut butter taste. The peanut butter flavor is much more pronounced in the icing, which I enjoyed. It's my new favorite cake/icing, and the majority of people in my office were surprised to find they loved it too.
