Beer Bottle Cake
This cake was a challenge for me! It was my tallest cake to date, standing 19" tall and measuring 6" in diameter. (regular-sized bottle to the side shows perspective) It was 6- 6" cakes for the body and RKT for the neck. Fondant failed me twice so I ended up covering it in chocolate ganache. Bottle cap was RKT covered in fondant. Pretzels are fondant. Foam is buttercream. Labels were edible images. Thanks for looking!

Golden Anniversary Cake
This was a cake I made for my parents' 50th anniversary this past weekend. The cake is the "durable cake" recipe I got from here and the buttercream is the recipe I got from SugarShack's video. The filling is also flavored buttercream using the LorAnn extracts. The cakes are covered in ivory fondant with gold dragees. The topper is gumpaste roses and rose leaves colored with a combo of lustre dust and vodka and a purchased 50 for the very top.

Ballerina
This cake is for my daughter's 4th birthday. As always, I learned a lot, and there are things I'd do diffierently next time. But overall, I'm very pleased with it. carved 8" white cake, with fondant frills and modelling paste ballerina bust. Cake board covered in fondant and outlined with a non-edible pink boa.

Shoe Box Cake
I made this cake for my mom's birthday. She collects miniature shoes so I knew I had to try it. The gumpaste shoe I made broke in half so I took the good half and had it poking out of the shoebox. 8x8 2-layer cake cut to proper dimension and covered in fondant. The lid is made from styrofoam and the shoe sticking out is made out of 50-50 gumpaste/fondant

Guitar Cake
For DH's birthday. I was going to take it to bowling tonight for every one to enjoy, but I wasn't finished in time so I'm leaving it at home (the blizzard had something to do with the decision too). It's chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling. Cut out of a 12x18 pan using DH's guitar as a pattern. Covered in MMF and painted with gel colors thinned with vodka. Neck is foamcore, covered in MMF, and painted the same as body. The neck was a pain in the neck! How to cover it and how to support it.

Chalkboard
My daughters' daycare director is leaving, so I offered to do a cake for their farewell party (as an attempt to get more business). Unfortunately I didn't have much time to do this, because they moved the date up 5 days after I volunteered. Chalkboard, chalk, and apple are fondant. Everything else is BC.

Balance Beam
This is for a 13th birthday. The girl was into gymnastics so the mom asked if I could do a girl halfway over on a balance beam. I did a FBCT for the girl except I used candy melts instead of BC. The first try I used a black outline but since the gymnast was too small, I tried it without the outline and liked it much better. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and all BC except for the gymnast.

Booties And Blocks
This is for a friend's sister-in-law's baby shower. It's 6 6" round cakes for the booties and 6 2" blocks. The booties are done all in BC and the blocks are covered in MMF and decorated with BC. The base is the top of one of those wooden three-legged side tables covered in MMF. Serves about 40 and weighs about 40 pounds because of the wooden base!

Catie's Castle
This is a cake I did for an engagement party. It's chocolate cake with champagned flavored BC, covered in MMF and decorated with royal icing. The towers are toilet paper & wrapping paper tubes wrapped in fondant and the spires are ice cream cones. I got my inspiration from Lindy Smith's FairyTale Castle. Thanks for looking!

Sweet Sixteen Cake
This is a sweet sixteen cake for my friend's daughter. She wanted me to copy a cake she found on CakeCentral. So this is my attempt to copy it, with the addition of some roses. My friend and her daughter really liked the cake. What a week though! It was so humid out today that the frosting just wilted on the cake, as you can see in the photo. Plenty of lessons learned with this cake! Yellow pound cake with strawberry BC. BC roses. Bow is 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. Super pearl lustre dust for shine.

Teapot Cake
This was my second teapot cake and it was easier to do than the last one but it still wasn't quite what I was hoping. I see a few small finishing touches to make but it's pretty much ready to deliver. It's chocolate pound cake (modified box cake recipe from CC) with cheesecake-flavored buttercream filling and frosting. I used the ball pan for the teapot and mini-ball pan for the teacups. Roses are royal icing and glove, spoon, sugar cubes, and saucers are fondant.
