4Th Of July Cake
Happy 4th of July! Well, almost... ;) My inspiration this year was from a wood plank flag on that glorious place, Pinterest. This cake is wood textured with weathered, rustic food coloring paint and topped with royal icing and floral wire fireworks. Wishing you all a safe and happy 4th of July celebration! And especially to our dedicated military and their families, THANK YOU for your service, sacrifice and courage!

Sugar Art For Autism Cake
So honored to be a part of this beautiful collaboration in 2017! The inspiration for my cake design was a beautiful painting by Nekea Blagoev, I fell in love with the way she used textures and shadows in her paintings, I knew I wanted to try to recreate one in cake form! I painted my design with food coloring gels on top of a fondant covered cake. I used a blue gray background with a crackle finish and painted my tree design after the background had fully dried and cracked. The final step was to layer both white sanding sugar and sugar pearls to recreate the layered textures Nekea uses in her paintings. I love the way her use of shadows and textures brings an ethereal feeling to her work! It was such an honor to have the opportunity to recreate her design in sugar and be a part of this wonderful collaboration!

Lace And Lattice Wedding Cake
Lace and Lattice Wedding Cake. This cake was so fun to make but so hard to photograph! There are so many details I love that just didn't translate on camera! The top 3 tiers are impressed with a delicate lace pattern. The bottom ruffles lattice is encrusted with hundreds of tiny seed pearls. Hanging strands of seed pearls and a giant black frilled peony complete the design.

Eyelet Lace Wedding Cake
Eyelet Lace Wedding Cake made for the June issue of Cake Masters out now! Eyelet lace always brings me back to the memories of catching fireflies on warm summer nights and sipping lemonade outside. I wanted to capture the innocence of eyelet with a bit of a flirty, modern twist.

Buttercream Ruffles And Sugar Succulents
Buttercream ruffles and sugar succulents - the perfect pair! There's just something about the dainty ruffles with the deep green of succulents that make them meld so beautifully into a rustic yet chic design! Alternating tiers of smooth buttercream and directional ruffles and finished with 2 large sugar succulents.

Older Than Dirt Cake
My husband. I love him so. He passed a milestone birthday and being the kind, compassionate, loving wife I am...this was the cake I made for him. :D Chocolate buttercream covered in crushed Oreos for the dirt/mud and fondant blades of grass peeking out, with the heartfelt message of love in fondant lettering as well. He's a good sport and I'm blessed to have him as my partner in life! Here's to another 50, my love!

Winter Wonderland Cake
My husband and I are celebrating 18 years of marriage today – that seems so surreal! Our marriage is old enough to vote! He’s my partner, my friend, my cohort, my sounding board, my soft place to fall. He believes in me – more than I believe in myself and pushes my sanity to the limits at times. And even though he says it’s our kids, I think I’m probably the cause of the majority of his gray hair – lol! I’ve now known him half my life and I’m better for it. <3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine. The cake In honor of our celebration (that will most likely involve running several kids to practices and eating sandwiches in the car – glamorous, right?). Gumpaste mistletoe leaves with red holly berries, sugared snow tier, Burberry plaid with button accents and aged, crackle wood planks.
