Pug Finds A Home
My beautiful friend who is the foster parent to three different children asked me to make a kid for her eldest daughters 15th birthday. Her daughter had never had a birthday or a birthday cake. Her daughter has a predisposition to rescuing abandoned animals. Although she does not have a pug she would love to own one, one day. She was very overwhelmed to receive this cake. I am happy to have been a part of it.

Elegant Baby Shower
I wanted to make a cake as elegant as the mum to be. I have long wanted to make a white flower with gold detailing so here it is. It is halfway between a magnolia and a peony. The cake was a test cake and it was a success according to the comments at the party. The recipe is a vintage American recipe called "Old Vermont Burnt Sugar Cake with Maple Cream Cheese frosting" from Baker & Spice's 'Vintage Cakes'.

Rock Climbing Wedding Cake
My first ever wedding cake. The theme was rock climbing and they wanted it to look like a wedding cake!!. The groom was also competing in the Iron Man challenge the week before the wedding so they wanted his bike and the Iron Man logo included. I was so very pleased with how the cake turned out. It was my first attempt at draping, piping, bike, and adult figures. A big thanks to Carlos Lichetti's book "Animation in Sugar" I literally could not have made those figures without that book. The tiers were 6, 9, 12".

One Direction Ipod
I'll say straight up that this cake design was supplied to me by my friend who found it on the internet - so I don't know who to credit. I made a few changes but I am most impressed with my design for the board. A great way to use up small quantities of fondant from a previous project. My friends daughter LOVES One Direction and pink iPod's!

Abby's Birthday
This cake is the result of some info from the boyfriend and a hell of a lot of Pintrest stalking! It has provided mixed reactions from friends and family. But the birthday girl loved it and that's the main thing. Abby has a wonderful boyfriend and best friend who ordered the cake from me :)

Edward And Jacobs First Fishy Birthday
These not so little cakes were made for my friends twin boys. The theme of the party was fish and the two fish i hand painted for the cake were based on the invitation. This was a first attempt at hand painting gum paste. The cakes were banana cake and carrot cake both with cream cheese filling. Lessons learnt. Do not decorate cakes on 41 degree days - Slip slidey. Check the route to the venue does not have a series of 45degree hills all the way there :(

Leah's Bub
My friend Leah is about to have her first baby and I made a cake for her baby shower. The cake is really a few different designs that I wanted to try. I have adored all the ruffle cakes cake so i had to try that. I loved the idea of a baby in a flower, Anne Geddes style. And the thought of a swam of butterflies made my heart melt. So here they are - all in one design. The cake was mud with coconut white chocolate ganache filling and buttercream covered in fondant. So much sugar!!

Rubik's Cube Cake
This cake was for my partners 21st birthday. He recently mastered the Rubik's cube in under 2 minutes. The cake was two tier to allow for more serves. It was a nightmare with the black fondant tearing. I eventually had to resort to a white fondant coat then a strip of black over the front, top and back, then two panels on either side. Not much joy cutting out the squares either. All in all, it is not too bad. I have the so much respect for people who manage to do graphic/technical cakes.

Las Vegas Baby Shower
My close friend is having baby twins. A girl and a boy. She is not a real girly-girl but she does love Vegas. Her and her mum travel there nearly every year from Australia. The always go to the fab shows and the gaming lounges. This is my tribute to her. A little Elvis and a little showgirl. The cakes are chocolate mud.

Goodies V Baddies
My friend asked me to make an Iron Man cake for his 30th birthday and it kind of grew from there. It was a costume party and no guessing what the birthday boy went as! (it was Iron Man). All layers were chocolate mud cake with layer filling alternating between Coconut White Choc ganache and Peppermint Milk Choc ganache. And thanks to candygirl_82 whose batman and joker formed the start of this cake!

Mexican Fiesta 30Th
I have only started cake decorating and I spent three months planning and creating the decorations for this beast. My birthday party theme was mexico! And i have a cactus collection. So, heaven! This was my first tiered cake. I had baked and frozen the cakes and took the Friday off work to decorate it. I was up until 3am! and by the time i went to bed a had nearly broken my wrist with all the kneading. I had to strap my wrist right up until the party started the next night. Lesson: colour fondant ahead of time. All tiers are red velvet with cream cheese filling, fondant covered with fondant and gumpaste decorations.
