It's a triple chocolate cake covered in MM fondant and it's my first two tier cake. Thanks for all the valuable advises that I got from the wonderful people here, I managed to pull it off. Even though, the cake looks amateur.
These are covered with melted chocolated and then rice sprinkles.
This one looks nice enough... everything was almost perfect excep the shine. I went to sleep crying again cos it was not suppose to be shiny. The next day, I researched and realised that fondant covered cakes need not be placed in the fridge... duh!!!
This was my fifth attempt with fondant. My husband wanted to see flowers on this cake that I was making for my friends' birthdays. So I tried the rose. The roses came out alright. It made me realised that I need the flower hanging rack to let the flowers hang upside down to dry (and I need those wires too)... I put this into the fridge and when we had to transport it we realised that it started to get shiny. Did not think too much into it and thought it was the weather and it was melting. Once at the venue, we popped it into the fridge again. Well, friends loved it (eventhough it was shiny)
This one is a dummy . I had to practice handling the fondant. The strips did not work out for me this time.
This was my third attempt after I last baked six months ago. It was bad... I did not remember how to handle the fondant. I cried that night...
Then I got daring and made a second one right after the first cake was completed. Well, since I have two girls, then I should have two cakes. :)
This was the first fondant cake that I had made in December 2010 for my daughters' birthday. I was being very adventurous. I looked good and well, the looks covered up the rest of the imperfections.
