Twin girls are graduating from elementary school to middle school. The bottom tier represents their elementary school with the mascot. The top tier is the middle school where they will be going. The lions are RKT covered in MMF and hand paint. The megaphone and basketball are MMF; colored then hand painted. Thanks for looking.
This was for a friend's grandmother's 80th birthday. Grandma is a retired school bus driver. This is the largest cake I've ever made; it was 2-ft long and 10-inches high. It wouldn't have been so lumpy however as construction proceeded it became too large to get in my refrig - OOPS! Oh Well! Grandma and everybody at the party loved that cake and that's what counts.
This is a 11 x 15 vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream all hand piped. The blocks and the Teddy Bear are RKT covered in MMF.
This is for a friends daughter. It is my first attempt at making MMF - LOVE IT! Easy to make, much more pliable, very user friendly. The graduation cap and diploma are gumpaste. The tassle was fondant mixed with gumpaste, I should I used just gumpaste. Lesson Learned! Thanks for looking.
This was the cake from H-E-double toothpicks. The humidity and heat had gone up and fondant trouble came with it. The fondant kept drying out quickly and cracking. After having to tear the fondant off and replacing it 3 times the basketball came out lumpy; the back of the ball is an abject disaster. I finally had decent lines on the ball however because the netting kept drying out and cracking and falling off the cake quicker than I could make it, the lines were smeared on the ball. I also had to use toothpicks to get the nettting to stay on the ball. The only saving grace is the child it was for thinks it's the greatest cake ever. Glad she was happy, I'm not. :(
This was for a friend at works daughter. The cake is a vanilla pound cake from scratch with vanilla butter cream and fondant. The handle of the pom-pom has a Pirouline Wafer inside as an extra added surprise.
This was for a friend of a friend. The cake is marble with buttercream covered in fondant. The baby and twin stratocaster guitars are gumpaste. The parents-to-be are musician thus the guitars. Thanks for all the inspiration and tips, I couldn't have done this with out.
This is for a friend's husband. The pool table is in butter cream. The wood is chocolate butter cream. This was a small cake so I used malt balls covered in fondant for the pool balls.

My Dad is the biggest Green Bay fan ever. I just got home for our Super Bowl party, my Dad is elated. While there is very little left of the cake, what was left he is taking to work with him tomorrow. By the way, that's all butter cream, except for the logos, the towel and the teeth; those are gum paste.
My friend had a bad habit of "mooning" people, so I imortalized his bad habit in cake. This was my first attempt at using fondant which I made from scratch.
