Knitting Cake
My car's knackered and my cousin's boyf is a mechanic, it just so happens it's his mum's birthday this week so he's fixing my car while I made a cake. I'd say that's a fair deal. I was told his mum liked knitting so decorated a 6" choc mud cake with fondant accents to make this cake, and after handrolling all the wool...I'm buying a clay gun!!! This was very last minute, totally stressed me out. I was lucky I had a cake in the freezer. Sorry for the rubbish photo, taken on my phone, I forgot my camera. TFLx

Funky Sweet Sixteen
My 8th fondant cake. 8" chocolate mud cake. So the birthday girl asked for a funky cake in bright colours (pink, blue and purple were specified) and she likes daisies, this is what I came up with. The bow is sprayed with pearl lustre dust and there is edible disco glitter on the pink fondant. Bow is fixed in place with candy melts. I hadn't dried the loops to the bow long enough so the top one broke, twice! luckily I'd made 4 spares. The stripes were a nightmare to do but they covered up where the white fondant stretched underneath that I was too tired to fix. TFL!

Sweet Sixteen
For a friend's 16th birthday I made her a giant cupcake by using 2x6" round pans and half of the wilton sports ball pan. It was a chocolate mudcake covered in ganache before finishing with fondant and gumpaste embellishments. There are 16 cupcakes to accompany it, in a variety of sizes, standard, baking cup size and mini, the 4 mini cupcakes at the front do not have a case, but have ganache around them instead (I didn't have any brown mini cases). The bow is made following the planet cake video on youtube. And that's about it, TFL!

Mini Cooper
I helped a friend make a mini cooper car for her dad's birthday. Made from Planet Cake's mudcake recipe, ganache then fondant. Used a 6 inch square tin that's about 4 inches deep and cut to fit the shape I wanted. Not perfect but not bad considering it was my first carved cake and only the 5th fondant cake I've ever done. I want to do another one already!

Tool Box Cake
For a friend's 60th birthday my dad comissioned me to make a cake. As the guy in question is a builder by trade I immediately decided to do a tool box cake, it was a lot of fun to do. It's my 4th fondant cake so far, and I'm falling more and more in love with caking!!!! It's a shame I didn't take pics of the pliers or monkey wrench, they were pretty realistic (IMHO). But the birthday boy's son is a photographer so he sent me some nice pics. Enjoy! njoycakes x

Zebra And Pink Topsy Turvy Cake
This was the first cake I ever decorated and it's the first stacked cake I've ever done, not to mention the first topsy turvy I ever attempted. It was for my own birthday so I just went to town with the decorations. It's a vanilla sponge layered with buttercream covered in fondant. I learnt a lot of stuff whilst doing this cake, mostly that I love cake decorating!!! :)
