Baby Shower Cake With Sled Dog
This cake was for a couple at me office who were having a baby (they didnt know if it was going to be a boy or a girl). We all pitched in to make a quilt with these colors. The dog is a model of their "fur child" - a husky mix named Tiaga. Figures and bow are fondant with tylose. Dots are all little bits of fondant.

Stratigraphy!
I saw a video on how to make this "convoluted cake" (also called a puzzle cake) in cake decorating class and had to give it a try. I am going to try to make a "how to" sheet to share how I made it! It was a big hit at our holiday party. We are a bunch of nerdy geologists - so a cross section cake was a big hit!

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes
These cupcakes are named after the alcoholic drink/shot (hence the less than PC name). Chocolate Guinness cupcake, filled with chocolate ganache with Jameson Irish whiskey, topped with Baileys Irish Cream frosting. I got the recipe from a forum thread here on CC. Truly divine!

Bird Biologist Baby Shower
Cake for a lady who (and her husband) are bird biologist. So, naturally, I went with a robin theme. White cake with lemon curd (top tier) and blackberry jam (bottom tier). The frosting has real vanilla bean seeds, to give the frosting that speckled look. Twigs are piped chocolate.

Chocolate Strawberry Horse Cake
This cake was for our Horsemasters club! Its a WASC cake with strawberry filling, vanilla buttercream and garnished with chocolate covered strawberries. Yummy! The horse and bow are chocolate fondant. Special thanks to The_Sugar_Fairy for coming up with this design for such a elegant horse cake!

Lean On Me...
This is what happens when you put to much/not the right kind of frosting under fondant! It looked OK in the fridge, but when it came to room temp - yikes! It also didn't travel too well. I now know exactly how many bumps there are in our dirt road! To "top" it all off, the wire sprigs in the top kept leaning/falling out. Well, at least I learned a lot!

Baby Elmo Present Cake
This cake made me cry! I certainly learned my lesson about rolling fondant too thin! Thank goodness for ribbons and polka dots - they cover all sorts of blemishes! The bottom cake is a 10inch with sweet cream filling and the top tier is chocolate with raspberry filling. Elmo topper and ribbon are fondant mixed with Tylose. There is supposed to be a large candle next to Elmo, so that takes care of that big gap! Thanks for looking!

Dinosaur Cake
This has been my most challenging cake so far! It is a 4-6-8 chocolate peanut butter cake with chocolate mousse filling. All fondant except for the dino figures, which are fondant and tylose. The back side of the cake shows a geologic stratigraphy column complete with dino bones. Grass and vines are buttercream. The waterfall is piping gel over fondant with buttercream 'foam'. This cake was so much fun!!!

Horse Cake
I made this horse cake for a meeting of my local University Equestrian Network. I put it under birthday cakes because I would totally love this cake for my birthday! Its tiers are 4in and 6in. Its chocolate malt cake with vanilla malt buttercream frosting. I now have a whole new respect for people who can get perfectly smooth buttercream!! So melty!! The horses are piped milk and dark chocolate. I think next time I am going to make a rearing horse for the top. Thanks for looking!

Celebration Cake Just For Fun!
This is my first stacked cake and my first time working with fondant. Thanks to all you CC'ers who provided awesome pics, articles, and tutorials. This is a chocolate cake with chocolate fondant. I used the "No cook fudge frosting" underneath the fondant and it worked perfectly!
