Detroit Red Wings Birthday Cake
Chcolate cake with hazelnut chocolate filling, covered with crusting buttercream. The Red Wing logo was created using the Frozen Buttercream Transfer method. It was my first time using crusting buttercream, as well as my first time trying a FBCT. Overall, I was pretty happy with it.

Abstract Birthday Cake
Chocolate fondue (made with Wilton's fondant and chocolate candy melts). This was my first time creating a bow - thanks to the cc'ers who posted directions on the forums or in articles for the advice - greatly appreciated! This one is made of fondant, but next time I think I'll try 1/2 fondant, 1/2 gumpaste, and use candy melts as a "glue". Live and learn!
