These are pictures of a gingerbread house I entered in a local competition. They said over 100 entries. I got third. Had to share this was my 1st time out making a gingerbread creation this size. Called it Santa's rest stop. The elf is looking at his watch keeping Santa on schedule. The bag, Santa and Elf are fondant gumpaste all else is gingerbread, royal icing and candy

A friend wanted this for her son. SHe gave a picture from Howsweetbakery and asked "for that truck" while I want to use for inspiration rather than copy she wanted that truck. So with that picture and inspiration from CC I made this. Fondant and gumpaste figures and accents.

This one was hard. My friend asked me to make a cake for his partner, who is a singer, going to school for fashion design, likes the shore, cooking, balloons, pie, pizza, music and Oh can you put the Albanian flag on there too. I love both of these men so I thought long and hard and came up with this. This was my first attempt at making a person figure. They enjoyed turning the cake and seeing the small "pictures" of his life.

80 Years

This was for a jubilee for a nun who was celebrating 80 years since entering the convent. Loves carnations and wanted basketweave. My first attempt at gumpaste carnations. The buttercream melted a bit during delivery but I was happy with the flowers and so was she.

Book Cake

Grad cake with fondant. It was a hot day and the air conditioning broke, I was in a panic my buttercream getting softer by the minute and the fondant was not getting smooth. But my friend just loved it so I was happy. Thanks all CCers for the pics.

St. Patrick's Day Cake

St. Patrick's Day with Leprechaun. Vanilla sponge with buttercream. Pot o' gold is chocolate with fondant. Gumpaste figures. I sponge painted the kettle to get the hammered kettle look but it is hard to see in the picture.

Pig And Piano, He's Such A Ham

The cake is fondant covered, pig is made of gumpaste. The piano is made of rice crispy treats/gumpaste and I had to use wooden pegs for the legs. Everything else is edible. Thanks for looking I had a good time with the pig.

Snow Globe Penguins

I loved all the snow globe cakes I saw here at CC so I just I had to make one myself. I also liked the idea of penguins at the North Pole I saw here too. I used a plastic fish bowl. Six inch round cake on an eight inch round. Thanks for the inspiration.

I work at a convent and one of the Sisters celebrated her 99th Birthday. Her fondest memories are of a little black poodle she once had so a theme emerged. Enjoy.
