Graduation
After someone saw a pic of the last grad cake I made they asked me to order one for their daughter's graduation.....IN 2 DAYS! Why, I said "Yes" of course! These were her school's colors (a pain to work w/the dark fondant). Since I had NO time to wait for drying fondant I did the cap & diploma in gumpaste (1st time using & loved it). All other decorations fondant. I put on roses to make it more girly. Put the butterfly on to represent a new chapter in her life. 9X13 pound cake w/strawberry filling & strawberry buttercream. I CANNOT believe I cranked this thing out in 48 hours! Including making the fondant. Whew! I know all the flaws (aren't we our own worst critics) but overall very happy with the results.

Graduation Cake
Made this for my cousin's high school graduation. He played volleyball and was a math wiz (thus the name "Math King" he was called since 1st grade) and a saying his mom wanted to share w/him. Thanks to the fabulous cake idea I "borrowed" from Keiperd. Man, you make a flawless cake. Ball not easy at all to do. The cake's a 11x15 pound cake, choc ganache filling & cream cheese frosting. Cap made of fondant w/tylose powder. Ball & book RCT covered in fondant. Man are those letters time consuming but MUCH easier after watching a tutorial video. Drove 2 hours to deliver it (AAACCCKKK!) but it made it in one piece & the grad was happy! :-)

Sea Creatures
This was a fun cake I did in a few hours for my husbands birthday. I had left over fondant in a few colors and made small amounts of others w/leftover white. To get the ocean I just swirled blue gel frosting on to buttercream frosting. I must say it was one of the most fun cakes I made b/c I had no plan and just did it in a couple hours baking and all and used a bunch of ideas from CC. Thanks for all the great ideas! Fun also b/c the kids liked to help.

Minnie Mouse 1St Birthday Cake
This was a fun, fun cake! I made it for my niece's 1st birthday. Thanks, aprilsong, for the idea! I tweeked it with a few of my own ideas. Had to change some of the things I wanted to do b/c the fondant I got was not cooperating. I usually make my own mmf but due to a shoulder injury I wasn't able to. I must say, I MUCH prefer to use homemade mmf over store bought. The cakes were pound cake w/strawberry bc and strawberry filling covered in fondant. The Minnie cutouts and #1 all fondant.

Princess Castle Cake
This was my first time making and working with fondant. This cake was for my daugters 3rd birthday. She wanted a princess cake so I found an idea on line. I cannot take credit for the creative idea for this cake. A few days before I made it she said she wanted Tinkerbell to fly out of the castle! Thanks Disney! Luckily I had a little toy I bought and carved a window in the tower for her. The bottom cake was a 3 layer round cake w/bc and strawberry filling. The house was a loaf pound cake I carved. The towers were rkt w/ice cream cones. All covered in bc w/mmf. It was a lot of fun to make and needless to say my daughter LOVED it! Thanks to all those on cc for yours creative ideas as I looked at TONS of castles and they are awesome.
